Bio
Selected by Melbourne with pick four in the 2012 National Draft, Jimmy Toumpas arrived at the club as a highly decorated junior from Woodville-West Torrens who had captained South Australia to victory in the Under-18 National Championships. However, he entered the Demons' system during a tumultuous era and struggled to translate his prolific junior form to the elite level, often finding himself on the fringe of selection while battling confidence and injury issues. After 27 games in three seasons, the outside midfielder requested a trade back to his home state, joining Port Adelaide ahead of the 2016 season in a bid to revitalise his career. Despite his reputation as a skilful ball-user capable of playing off a flank or wing, Toumpas found it difficult to crack the Power's senior rotation and spent the majority of his tenure playing in the SANFL. He was eventually delisted at the conclusion of the 2018 season, finishing his AFL career with 37 games.
