Bio
Born in Seymour but raised in Melbourne by an aunt following the tragic death of his mother, Jock Morison worked his way to the VFL through the Richmond Amateurs. After failing to secure a spot at Punt Road, he crossed to Victoria Park and impressed as a running defender with the Collingwood Districts reserves, eventually earning a personal call-up from legendary coach Jock McHale. He broke into the senior lineup during the 1939 season, but his promising start was abruptly curtailed by the outbreak of World War II, with Morison enlisting and later serving in North Borneo. Although his VFL career was limited to just five games before the war intervened, he remained connected to the game as a coach for Richmond Districts and established a lasting family dynasty of fervent Magpie supporters.
