Stats
Bio
Recruited from Tungamah in north-east Victoria, Joe Bourke was a lightweight forward given a brief trial by Richmond during the club's second season in the VFL. Standing 175cm and weighing just 67kg, he was undersized for a deep attacking role but was nonetheless selected to debut against University in Round 2, 1909, where he managed to boot his solitary career goal. He spent the bulk of the season out of the senior side, earning only one subsequent recall against Geelong two months later in Round 9. Unable to cement a regular spot in the Tigers' lineup, Bourke's time at Punt Road was fleeting, serving as a short-lived experiment in the forward line before he exited the league.
