Bio
Hailing from the South West region of Western Australia, Joe Cormack was a skilled rover recruited to the West Coast Eagles from Swan Districts. Although he possessed a natural ability to find the football, he struggled to command a regular spot in the Eagles' lineup, managing just ten appearances over two seasons as the club established its early identity. In search of greater opportunities, Cormack was traded to Fitzroy prior to the 1991 season as part of the exchange that saw Dale Kickett return to Perth. He enjoyed a more consistent run at the senior level with the Lions, best illustrated by a career-high 31-disposal, two-goal effort against Sydney in 1992 that secured him three Brownlow votes. While he was ultimately a serviceable contributor rather than a star, Cormack provided valuable midfield support during a challenging era for the Roys before his AFL career concluded.
