Stats
Bio
Recruited from Collingwood Districts, where he had already tasted premiership success in the seconds, Joe Harrison crossed to Punt Road as a determined key defender capable of holding down full-back or centre half-back. Despite a short VFL career hampered by misfortune, including a broken ankle sustained in the opening round of 1924 and a later suspension, he managed to make a significant impact during his time at the top level. His quality as a backman was recognised with selection for Victoria in 1924, and he recovered sufficiently to feature in the Tigers' finals campaign that same year. Harrison departed the VFL midway through 1925, eventually carving out a solid tenure with Camberwell in the VFA before returning to captain-coach local sides in the Richmond district.
