Bio
Edward "Joe" Moroney was a goal-kicking utility who briefly appeared for St Kilda before forging a distinguished career in the VFA. Recruited from the Prahran District Juniors, he made his senior debut against Richmond at Punt Road late in the 1909 season, managing just two games and a solitary goal for the Saints. Unable to secure a long-term position at the Junction Oval, he crossed to Prahran the following year, where he blossomed into a club stalwart over a tenure spanning 16 seasons. Moroney eventually played 161 games for the Two Blues and earned selection for the VFA representative side on three separate occasions, proving himself a premier Association footballer rather than a League journeyman.
