Bio
Recruited from Stawell in the Wimmera region, Joe Wearmouth was a country footballer brought into the fold by a struggling St Kilda outfit during the 1905 season. Born in Pleasant Creek, the 180cm utility was tall for the era and was given a brief trial at VFL level, making his debut against Essendon in Round 6 followed by a second appearance against Geelong the following week. He was unable to cement a permanent spot in the senior side during a difficult period where the Saints often cycled through players in search of competitive talent, and he finished his brief league career without registering a goal before eventually relocating to New South Wales.
