Stats
Bio
A local product recruited from the Essendon Juniors, John Anderson earned a brief opportunity at the senior level during the 1907 VFL season. He made his debut in the opening round against Geelong at East Melbourne, stepping into the side as the club looked to blood homegrown talent. Anderson held his place for three matches but struggled to make a lasting impact on the field, failing to register a goal during his short stint in the top flight. Unable to cement a regular spot in the lineup, he drifted out of the league shortly after, his career serving as a snapshot of the many local footballers who filled a role for a handful of games in the era before returning to the lower grades.
