Bio
Recruited from Sunshine, John Bradbury was a sturdy utility player who provided depth for Footscray during the famous Ted Whitten era. He made his senior debut as a teenager in 1958 but found regular selection difficult to come by, spending the entire 1959 season in the reserves before stringing together his most consistent football across 1960 and 1961. A solid competitor who could fill gaps across the ground, he played nine games during the club's memorable 1961 campaign but was unable to force his way into the side that ultimately contested the Grand Final against Hawthorn. After missing the 1962 season, Bradbury returned for a brief three-game stint in 1963 before concluding his VFL career with 25 games to his name.
