Stats
Bio
Arriving at Geelong from Sandy Bay in the Tasmanian Football League, John Brimacombe was a towering recruit capable of playing as a key position utility or relief ruckman. Standing 193cm—a giant by 1970s standards—he was brought across Bass Strait to add size and depth to the Cats' list. He broke into the senior side midway through the 1977 season, making his debut just shy of his 24th birthday, but found the tempo of VFL football a significant step up. Brimacombe managed only three senior games, recording a handful of marks and hitouts, before losing his place in the side and eventually leaving Kardinia Park, remaining one of the many brief cameos in the club's history.
