Bio
Arriving at Corio Oval as a mature-age recruit, John Clemenger joined Geelong from amateur side Elsternwick as the VFL competition resumed full operations following the First World War. He made his debut at 28 years of age in 1919, quickly establishing himself as a dangerous option near goal by booting 16 majors across his 20 senior appearances. While his top-flight career was relatively brief, spanning just three seasons during the club's post-war rebuilding phase, Clemenger provided a steady avenue to goal for the Pivotonians before playing his final match in 1921.
