Bio
Recruited from the local Balaclava Football Club, John Crennan earned his opportunity with St Kilda during a dismal chapter in the club's history, joining a squad that failed to secure a single victory throughout the 1901 VFL season. Operating as a forward, the Ballarat native proved efficient in front of the sticks despite the scarcity of inside-50 entries, booting three goals in his four senior appearances—a creditable return given the side's overall struggles. His tenure at the top level was ultimately brief, concluding after that solitary winless campaign, and he passed away in 1924 at the age of 43.
