Stats
Bio
Recruited from Albury in the Ovens & Murray Football League, John Duthie was a towering ruckman and key position prospect who arrived at Arden Street during a transitional period for the club. Standing 193cm, he possessed the physical attributes to compete at the highest level but struggled to command a permanent spot in the senior side, managing just 11 appearances over four seasons. He often served as a backup big man, drifting forward to kick occasional goals when given the opportunity. Duthie’s career at North Melbourne concluded at the end of 1972, making him a casualty of the significant list overhaul that preceded Ron Barassi’s arrival and the club's subsequent golden era.
