Bio
Recruited from East Sandringham, John Evans was a tall key position prospect who offered St Kilda a versatile ruck-forward option during the late 1960s. Standing 191cm, he acted as an understudy to the Saints' established big men, breaking into the senior side for five games in his debut 1969 season. He found more consistency the following year, averaging a goal a game across nine appearances, but was squeezed out of the lineup after Round 16 and missed the club's subsequent finals campaign. Evans eventually departed the VFL to continue his career in the WAFL.
