Teams

Recruited from Black Rock, John Favier was a defender who primarily operated across the half-back line during his time in the VFL. He broke into the St Kilda senior side in 1982 and served as a defensive option at Moorabbin for three seasons, managing to accumulate the bulk of his career games while battling to cement a permanent spot in the starting 18. Favier crossed to the Sydney Swans for the 1985 season in search of greater opportunity but found regular selection difficult to come by, adding just two caps in the Harbour City before departing the league. While his VFL career was brief, Favier later carved out a distinguished tenure in the VFA with Frankston, where he became a star for the Dolphins, representing the VFA in interstate football and finishing fourth in the 1987 J.J. Liston Trophy count.
