Bio
Recruited from Yarrawonga in the Ovens and Murray League, John Frazer entered the VFL system with North Melbourne during the club's mid-1970s premiership era. However, he struggled to break into a star-studded lineup, finding his pathway to the goal square blocked by legendary spearhead Doug Wade. Seeking greater senior opportunities, Frazer crossed to Fitzroy for the 1978 season and made an immediate impact, booting a memorable nine goals on his club debut against South Melbourne. Despite this explosive start and a high career goal average that demonstrated his ability as a traditional full-forward, he was unable to consolidate a permanent position at the Junction Oval, drifting out of the league after just two seasons with the Lions.
