Stats
Bio
Recruited from Maffra Rovers in the North Gippsland Football League, John Leatham was a speedy wingman who briefly broke into a strong Carlton lineup early in the 1967 season. Standing 183cm, he offered valuable height and pace on the centreline, debuting in a Round 3 victory over North Melbourne and retaining his place for a thumping win against Melbourne the following week. Despite gathering a respectable 28 disposals across his two senior matches, Leatham was omitted for the fifth round and struggled to adapt to the rigorous demands of city life and VFL football. He departed Princes Park midway through the year, choosing to abandon his VFL ambitions and return to country football after just a handful of appearances in the reserves.
