Stats
Bio
Recruited from West Coburg, John May was a slight but skilled midfielder who progressed rapidly at Windy Hill, winning the under-19s' most consistent player award in 1969 and captaining the side the following year. His solid form in the lower grades earned him a senior debut in Round 14, 1970, where he held his place for three consecutive weeks as a wingman and rover during a difficult patch for the Bombers. Despite booting a goal in his brief stint at the top level, the 173cm playmaker was unable to secure a permanent spot and spent the entire 1971 season in the reserves. May eventually left the VFL to pursue a decorated local career, starring for Montmorency in the Diamond Valley and later winning a league best and fairest with Caloundra in Queensland.
