Bio
Recruited from Port Melbourne, John Moloney was a Williamstown native who earned a brief opportunity with St Kilda during the 1904 VFL season. He joined a Saints outfit that was struggling competitively, eventually finishing the year with the wooden spoon, and was one of many players trialled as the club desperately searched for list depth and a winning formula. Moloney managed just three senior appearances at the Junction Oval without registering a goal, his short-lived tenure representative of the high player turnover and transient careers common within the struggling St Kilda sides of the early 20th century.
