Bio
Recruited from Yallourn in the Latrobe Valley, John Paice arrived at Princes Park during an era when country zones were heavily scouted for VFL talent. Standing 180cm, he was a mid-sized utility who earned his senior opportunity midway through the 1955 season. He made his debut in Round 6 against South Melbourne and retained his place in the side for a month, featuring in victories over Footscray and North Melbourne. Despite this run of games, Paice was unable to secure a long-term spot in the Blues' lineup and departed the VFL landscape with four senior appearances to his name, remaining a footnote in Carlton's mid-50s history.
