Bio
John Foster Parish was a solidly built recruit from Camperdown in Victoria's Western District who briefly broke into the Collingwood lineup at the turn of the century. Standing 179cm and weighing 81kg, he possessed a sturdy frame well-suited to the physical attrition of VFL football in that era. He made his debut for the Magpies during the 1900 season, appearing in just three senior matches as the club pushed towards a finals campaign. Despite his physical attributes, Parish was unable to cement a permanent spot in a competitive Collingwood side that was building towards a premiership dynasty, and his short stint at Victoria Park marked the entirety of his VFL career.
