Bio
Recruited from the prolific football nursery of CBC Parade, John Plumridge arrived at the Lakeside Oval as a hopeful midfielder in the early 1960s. He made his debut for South Melbourne as an 18-year-old, operating primarily through the centre where his solid frame allowed him to compete in the contest. While he managed to break into the senior lineup for a dozen appearances across the 1962 and 1963 seasons, he was unable to cement a permanent spot in the Swans' engine room. Plumridge left the VFL scene without registering a goal, his tenure serving as a brief chapter in the club's history during a lean era for the red and white.
