Stats
Bio
Standing 191cm tall, John Price was a key position prospect recruited to Hawthorn from the West Brunswick amateurs. He arrived at Glenferrie Oval in 1965, a season where the Hawks were transitioning between their 1961 premiership era and the recruitment of future legends. Price made his senior debut in Round 6 against South Melbourne, utilised as a tall option capable of playing in the ruck or key posts. Despite his height—which was significant for the era—he found it difficult to secure a permanent spot in a spine that featured the dominant John Peck at full-forward. Price managed four senior appearances in his solitary season of VFL football before departing the top level, remaining a notable figure in the history of the West Brunswick Football Club.
