Stats
Bio
Recruited from New Town in Tasmania, John Robson was a robust ruckman who arrived at Punt Road in the mid-1950s. Standing at 189cm, he struggled to cement a consistent spot in the Tigers' senior lineup but became a key figure in the club's depth charts, playing an instrumental role in back-to-back reserves premierships in 1954 and 1955. After managing just half a dozen senior appearances for Richmond, he crossed to St Kilda for a brief four-game stint in 1956. Following his short VFL career, Robson returned to the Apple Isle to captain-coach Devonport, ultimately forging a more significant legacy in Tasmanian football than on the Victorian main stage.
