Stats
Bio
Recruited from Ballarat, John Sinclair was a half-back flanker who built a strong reputation in the reserves before briefly cracking the senior side. His 1968 campaign in the seconds was particularly impressive, as he played a pivotal role in Essendon's reserves premiership victory, finished third in the best and fairest, and was named the team's Most Valuable Player. He was rewarded with a senior debut in the opening round of 1969 against Richmond but found it difficult to cement a permanent spot in the lineup. Sinclair added just one more VFL match—a mid-season win over South Melbourne at the Lake Oval—before concluding his short tenure at Windy Hill.
