Bio
A diminutive rover recruited from West Heidelberg YCW, John Wise relied on his pace and crumbing instincts to carve out a niche at Victoria Park. Standing at just 170cm, he broke into the senior side midway through 1975 and provided energetic support around the packs, though he often found himself on the fringe of selection. Despite playing four matches during the club's tumultuous 1977 campaign under Tom Hafey, he was unable to force his way into the side for the historic drawn Grand Final series. Wise eventually departed Collingwood with 23 games to his name, remembered as a handy depth player during a competitive era for the Magpies.
