Bio
Recruited from Scotch College and the local Carlton District side, Johnny "Sox" Davies was a versatile utility who primarily operated in defence. He broke into the Blues' senior lineup in 1922, playing consistently for three seasons before finding himself on the outer and being cleared to the seconds at the end of 1924. After a five-year absence from the league's top tier, Davies made a brief and unexpected return with Fitzroy in 1929, managing a solitary appearance for the Maroons to cap off a career defined by perseverance rather than accolades.
