Bio
Born and bred in the Geelong district, John "Johnny" Keon was a local recruit whose brief VFL career is often overshadowed by his premature passing. He broke into the Pivotonians' senior side during the 1908 season, debuting in a mid-table team but struggling to cement a permanent spot in the starting eighteen. Keon managed just four senior appearances and a solitary goal that year before drifting out of the league's top flight. Off the field, he served the community as a police constable, a profession he maintained after his football days concluded. His life was tragically cut short in 1921 when he died from an aortic aneurysm at the age of just 36.
