Bio
Hailing from Violet Town in north-eastern Victoria, John "Johnny" Meadows played a fleeting but notable cameo for Essendon during the 1903 VFL season. He broke into a competitive "Same Olds" lineup that would eventually reach the finals that year, managing to boot two goals across his four senior appearances. Despite demonstrating he could find the big sticks at the elite level, his tenure at East Melbourne was short-lived, with Meadows departing the VFL scene almost as quickly as he arrived to return to life outside the state league spotlight.
