Teams

Hailing from Seymour in country Victoria, Jonathan Solomon was a towering key position prospect secured by the Brisbane Bears with pick 44 in the 1989 National Draft. Standing at 195cm and weighing 95kg, he was brought north to add size and contested strength to a struggling Bears outfit that often lacked depth against seasoned Victorian sides. Solomon made his senior debut in Round 9, 1990, against Collingwood at Carrara, where he managed to boot a goal and gather seven disposals in a difficult loss. He retained his spot for the following week's clash against Carlton at Princes Park but was unable to cement a permanent place in the side. Solomon's AFL career concluded after just those two appearances, leaving him as one of the many brief contributors during Brisbane's formative and turbulent years on the Gold Coast.
