Bio
Recruited from the Bendigo Pioneers, Jordan Doering began his AFL journey on Essendon’s list during the Bombers’ dominant late-1990s era but found himself squeezed out of a premiership-calibre squad without making a senior appearance. Thrown a lifeline by Carlton via the rookie list, the determined utility spent a season accumulating possessions in the reserves before earning promotion to the senior side in 2001. A prolific ball-winner in state league football known for his work rate on a half-back flank and wing, Doering battled to translate his dominant VFL form into consistent AFL output during a tumultuous transition period for the Blues. After being delisted and subsequently re-rookied to play a second season of senior football in 2002, he was cut from the top level for the final time, eventually becoming a standout contributor in the VFL for the Tasmanian Devils and Bendigo Bombers.
