Bio
Selected by Geelong with pick 48 in the 2011 National Draft, Jordan Murdoch arrived at Kardinia Park boasting elite speed and a penetrating left boot. Recruited from Glenelg, he established himself as a line-breaking wingman and high half-forward capable of hitting the scoreboard from range. While his raw athleticism was undeniable, Murdoch battled inconsistency throughout his tenure with the Cats, often drifting in and out of the best 22 during a competitive era for the club. Despite these fluctuations, he managed to play over 100 games in the hoops, serving as a dangerous outside runner who could stretch opposition defences with his sprint speed and endurance.
Following the 2018 season, Murdoch was delisted by Geelong and subsequently joined Gold Coast as a delisted free agent, brought in to provide maturity and run to a developing Suns list. He featured regularly in his first season at the club, offering experience to a young midfield group, but his opportunities dwindled over the following two years as the club prioritised its emerging talent. Murdoch was delisted at the conclusion of the 2021 season, finishing his career as a serviceable utility who maximised his physical attributes to carve out a decade-long career at the top level.
