Teams

Elevated from the rookie list as a local Queensland product, Josh Drummond became renowned as one of the elite distributors in the AFL during his time with the Brisbane Lions. Operating primarily as a rebounding defender, his laser-like left boot served as a primary weapon for the Lions, allowing him to quarterback offensive chains from the back half with rare precision. Despite his tactical importance and high standing at the club, Drummond's career was constantly interrupted by a litany of soft tissue injuries and nerve issues, ensuring he never completed a full season across his eight years on the senior list. He ultimately retired in 2012 due to these persistent physical setbacks, leaving the game as a highly respected "what if" figure who transitioned quickly into a career as an assistant coach.
