Stats
Bio
Recruited from the Geelong Falcons with pick 43 in the 2012 National Draft, Josh Saunders arrived at St Kilda with a reputation built on elite endurance and running capacity. A light-framed outside midfielder, he relied on his high aerobic tank to create spread from contests and link play between the arcs during a significant rebuilding phase for the club. While he demonstrated the necessary work rate to compete at the top level, he struggled to gain consistent possession or impact games heavily enough to command a permanent spot in the senior side. Unable to cement his place in Alan Richardson's long-term plans, Saunders remained on the fringes of selection throughout his four-year tenure before being delisted at the end of the 2016 season.
