Bio
Recruited from the Gippsland Power with pick 52 in the 2011 National Draft, Josh Tynan was a hard-nosed small defender who arrived at Melbourne during a turbulent transition period for the club. Renowned for his courage and willingness to attack the contest, he impressed the coaching staff early with his aggression and defensive work rate, earning a debut in Round 1, 2012 against the Brisbane Lions. However, after just two senior appearances, he was omitted from the side and subsequently battled injuries that derailed his momentum. Unable to break back into the senior lineup during the 2013 season, he was delisted after two years on the list. Tynan later forged a respected career in the VFL, playing over 100 state-league games for Frankston, Port Melbourne, and Essendon.
