Bio
Recruited from the Eastern Ranges with pick 31 in the 2016 National Draft, Josh Begley arrived at Essendon as a powerful medium forward with a reputation for strong contested work and accurate kicking. Affectionately known as "Fridge" due to his solid frame, he showed immediate potential in his debut year, earning a Rising Star nomination late in the 2017 season. However, his development was cruelly interrupted by a ruptured ACL sustained during the 2018 Anzac Day clash against Collingwood, forcing him into a long rehabilitation period. Although he managed to break back into the senior side the following year, Begley struggled to cement a permanent place in the Bombers' forward line and was delisted at the conclusion of the 2020 season.
