Bio
Recruited from Ringwood, Joshua Croft occupies a significant place in history as a member of Footscray’s inaugural VFL team in 1925. He was immediately selected for the club's debut match in the league against Fitzroy, where he made his presence felt by booting two goals in a historic, albeit losing, effort. Playing primarily as a forward, Croft proved to be a capable avenue to goal during the Tricolours' difficult transition into the elite competition, featuring regularly throughout their first three seasons. While his career tally was modest, his role in establishing the club's footing in the VFL ensures his status as a foundational player for Footscray.
