Bio
A testament to persistence, Joshua Head was a South Fremantle product who fought his way onto the Fremantle list on two separate occasions. Originally rookie-listed in 2002, his first stint at the club was derailed by persistent groin and shoulder injuries, eventually leading to his delisting without a senior appearance. After returning to the WAFL and transforming himself into a premier state-league performer, he was thrown a lifeline as a mature-age recruit with pick 6 in the 2008 Pre-Season Draft. A dashing left-footed defender known for his long kicking and ability to break lines from half-back, Head finally made his long-awaited debut as a 25-year-old late inclusion for Luke McPharlin. Although his AFL career was brief—yielding just nine games before his final delisting in 2009—his return to the top flight served as a reward for his resilience and consistent form with the Bulldogs.
