Bio
Recruited from Woodville-West Torrens with pick 57 in the 2019 National Draft, Josh Morris arrived at Hawthorn as a medium forward prospect noted for his athleticism and defensive pressure. Throughout his four seasons at Waverley Park, the Hawks experimented with his versatility, eventually shifting him into the backline to capitalise on his closing speed and spoiling ability. Despite showing glimpses of potential as a shutdown defender, Morris struggled to translate his VFL form into consistent senior output, often finding himself on the fringe of the best 22 during a period of transition for the club. He managed just 15 appearances across his tenure, rarely enjoying an extended run in the side, and was delisted at the conclusion of the 2023 season.
