Bio
Recruited from Mentone, Julian White faced the formidable challenge of breaking into St Kilda's powerhouse lineup during the club’s famous 1965 campaign. The 19-year-old earned his senior debut in Round 6 against Fitzroy, making an immediate impact with 13 disposals and a goal in a win at the Junction Oval. A lightly-built utility standing 179cm, White retained his place for three consecutive weeks, playing his part in a side brimming with Hall of Fame talent like Darrel Baldock and Ian Stewart. Despite performing creditably with the limited opportunities afforded to a teenager in a top-tier team, the sheer depth of the Saints' list saw him squeezed out of the senior 22 by mid-season. He left Moorabbin at the end of the year, a victim of the selection pressure that defined the club's golden era.
