Bio
Recruited from the Murray Bushrangers with pick 36 in the 2001 National Draft, Justin Davies was a small forward and midfielder who arrived at Carlton just as the club entered a tumultuous rebuilding phase. He broke into the senior side in 2002, joining a young list forced to mature quickly under the shadow of significant salary cap penalties, but he found it difficult to cement a regular spot in Denis Pagan's lineup. While he possessed pace and showed flashes of potential near goal, Davies struggled to translate his talent into consistent performance and was often caught between VFL form and sporadic senior opportunities. After five seasons on the fringe of selection without fully establishing himself, he was delisted at the conclusion of the 2006 season.
