Bio
Selected by Richmond with pick 49 in the 2022 National Draft, Kaleb Smith arrived from East Fremantle as a dual-sport athlete with a promising background in junior cricket. His start to life at Punt Road was frustrated by a serious navicular stress fracture that ruined his maiden campaign, forcing him to wait until the 2024 season to make his senior debut. A pacy utility capable of playing at either end of the ground, Smith is best utilised as a rebounding defender who uses his speed and vertical leap to intercept and drive the ball out of the backline. Despite these attributes, he has found it difficult to lock down a permanent position in the Tigers' best 22, spending his early career oscillating between the VFL and the senior side while developing the consistency required at AFL level.
