Bio
Recruited from South Morang in the Diamond Valley, Kalev Vann was a distinctive blonde-haired utility who earned a brief opportunity with Fitzroy during the 1977 season. Standing 185cm, he was positioned primarily as a centre half-forward who could pinch-hit in the ruck, making his debut against Geelong at Kardinia Park in Round 11. Vann struggled to command a permanent spot in the Lions' senior side, managing just two games without hitting the scoreboard before departing the VFL system. He subsequently forged a successful career in the VFA with Preston, where he reinvented himself as a dangerous target to top the club's goalkicking in 1979, later returning to the Diamond Valley to captain Epping to a premiership in 1990.
