Bio
Recruited from the Murray Bushrangers with pick 79 in the 2002 National Draft, Karl Norman was a rebounding defender who showed early promise during a difficult rebuilding phase for the Carlton Football Club. Possessing natural athleticism and the ability to provide dash from the half-back line, he featured regularly in the senior side under coach Denis Pagan. However, Norman's brief stint at the elite level was marred by inconsistency and significant off-field disciplinary issues which frequently drew the ire of the club's administration. Despite flashing potential as a running defender, his perceived lack of professionalism ultimately exhausted Carlton's patience, leading to his delisting at the conclusion of the 2005 season after just 27 games.
