Bio
Recruited from the Murray Bushrangers in the 2014 Rookie Draft, Kayne Turner made a remarkable start to his AFL career, breaking into the senior side late in his debut season and playing in finals while still completing his high school studies. Initially utilised as a manic pressure forward, he established a reputation for his aggression and tackling intent, traits that allowed him to survive on the list longer than many contemporaries with higher natural talent.
Over his decade at Arden Street, Turner evolved into a defensive specialist capable of performing lockdown roles on rebounding defenders or tagging midfielders. While his low statistical output often drew external scrutiny, he remained a fixture in the side under multiple coaches due to his discipline and commitment to selfless team acts. This internal respect saw him elevated to the club's leadership group during North Melbourne's rebuilding phase, providing experience and grit to a young lineup before his delisting at the conclusion of the 2023 season.
