Bio
Born in Liverpool, England, and recognised as one of the prominent Jewish players of his era, Keith Baskin was a goal-kicking centreman who carved out a unique career at South Melbourne. Recruited from VFA side Moorabbin following that club's suspension, he played his debut season in 1964 before heading to the bush for a two-year stint with Myrtleford in the Ovens & Murray League. Baskin returned to the Lake Oval in 1967 as a more polished ball-winner with a sharp eye for goal, averaging better than a major a game throughout his career. His influence peaked in 1968 when he finished third in the club's Best and Fairest, serving the Swans as a reliable midfielder and forward option until hanging up the boots in 1973.
