Stats
Bio
Recruited from Romsey, Keith Carroll was a tough and dashing half-back flanker who had to bide his time before cementing his place in Melbourne's powerful lineup during the Norm Smith golden era. After struggling to hold a regular spot following his 1952 debut, Carroll enjoyed a breakout season in 1956, playing every match and tasting premiership success as part of the famous "Olympic" team. He claimed a second flag in 1957 despite battling injury interruptions and featured in the 1958 Grand Final loss to Collingwood, proving himself a vital cog in the Demons' backline. Although highly regarded for his ability to rebound out of defence, persistent physical issues forced him into premature retirement at just 27, ending his career as a dual premiership player and an eventual inductee into the club's '150 Heroes'.
