Recruited from the local Geelong area, Keith Johns broke into the senior side as a teenager and quickly established himself as a defensive pillar for the Pivotonians. He developed into a premier backman during the early 1920s, earning the club's Best and Fairest award in 1922 for his reliability and ability to read the play in the back half. Johns is best remembered for his critical role in the club's historic breakthrough, manning the full-back position during the 1925 Grand Final victory against Collingwood.
