Bio
Born in Dimboola and recruited from Golden Point in the Ballarat Football League, Keith Palmer was a tall utility whose VFL career was defined by the disruption of the Second World War. He debuted for Geelong in 1941, managing five senior appearances while simultaneously serving in the Australian Army. With the Pivotonians forced into recess during the peak of the conflict due to travel restrictions, Palmer was unable to continue with the club. Upon his discharge from military service in May 1943, he resumed his football career with Footscray, where he proved effective near goal, booting four majors in five games. Standing 185cm, Palmer possessed the height of a key position player for the era, but his time at the elite level was ultimately curtailed by the global conflict.
