Bio
Recruited from VFA club Camberwell, Keith Parris was a defensive-minded player who joined Essendon for a brief two-season stint in the late 1920s. Despite managing 16 senior appearances, he struggled to cement a long-term spot in the side and did not register a goal during his time at Windy Hill. Parris returned to the VFA to play for Prahran and Sandringham before establishing a significant legacy in country football as a captain-coach. He found exceptional form in regional leagues during the 1930s, winning a league Best and Fairest with Beechworth in the Ovens & King Football League and later captain-coaching Narrandera to a premiership in the South West Football League. His service to the game was followed by service to his country, as he enlisted in the Australian Army during World War II.
